Thomas-Scythes

Josie Marie Lea Thomas, of Ironton, became the bride of Michael Scythes, of Ironton, in a ceremony July 12 at Freedom Baptist Church. The Rev. Ralph Tyo officiated at the afternoon double-ring ceremony.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of Rock Hill High School. She is employed at the KDMC Child Development Center in Ashland, Ky.

The groom is also a 2006 graduate of Rock Hill High School.

He is a pipefitter and a member of the Pipefitters Local 577 in Portsmouth. Following a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Pedro.
