Time Warner should offer Columbus news channel

Published 10:53pm Saturday, January 3, 2009

Has anyone noticed that we lost channel 18, WNBS 10 from Columbus? Does this unannounced line up change bother anyone? We were all victims of a clever bait and switch because of the recent problems between Viacom and Time Warner Cable.

All of the news was focused on the potential loss of several other channels — this never happened! It probably was never going to happen anyway. While we were waiting to see the outcome of this, they stole our Columbus channel. They tried to do this a few years ago. Did they think we wouldn’t notice? Do they care? No!

This is a copy of the I sent letter sent to Time Warner Cable today.

Please join me by flooding the TWC offices with more letters of your own. I would also like to enlist the help of city council in the matter.

Perhaps it is time to bring in another cable provider.

I am very upset by the recent loss of cable channel 18, WBNS 10. The station originates from the state capitol and provides us with news otherwise unavailable from a “local” WV affiliate.

This change was not published in the 2009 channel line up earlier this month.

I currently contribute over $160 every month to TWC but because of this recent unannounced change in programming, I will be looking into satellite providers. I hope you will reconsider this poor decision.
