Spring floral design show scheduled

PORTSMOUTH — The Ohio Association of Garden Clubs, Region 10 will sponsor a spring floral show entitled: “Spring Fling – Going Green” at Shawnee State Lodge near Portsmouth April 16, beginning at 10 a.m.

Anna Cardenas, regional director said the competition is open to all and that entries must be in place by 9:30 a.m.

Portsmouth Garden Club is charge of the flower show registration.

All entries must be registered by April 10. Entries may be registered by calling Linda Warfield at (740) 353 4831 or Karolyn Ketter at (740) 353 3354.

Awards will be given in all classifications and for Best of Show.

The show will be judged by a certified OAGC judge, Janet Bolin.

Clubs throughout southern Ohio will convene for a spring regional meeting in conjunction with the flower show at Shawnee State Lodge in Friendship.

The daylong festivities will begin with a 9 a.m. registration and coffee brunch.

The meeting will feature the morning session, on trees and shrubs with Steve Boehme from Good-Seed Farms.

Lunch will be provided and Babs Sabick, OAGC state councilor will be the speaker for the afternoon session Garden club members are asked to complete their pre-registration forms with their club treasurer.

Host clubs are Portsmouth Garden Club and Green Triangle Garden Club.
