Ironton student earns Junior College scholarship

IRONTON — Ironton High School/Collins Career Center senior Whitney Lawson has been awarded the 33rd Chester A. Riley Scholarship by the Huntington Junior College.

Lawson will receive $13,800 in college aid that will fully cover the cost of education, including tuition and books.

She was one of several high school seniors who participated in the scholarship test earlier this month.

She will begin her studies at the college Sept. 29 and plans to study business management.
