IRONTON — Ironton High School has announced it is forming the first Ironton High School Alumni Band.

All alumni of the Ironton High School Band are invited to attend the performance at the homecoming football game on Friday, Oct. 2.

Rehearsals will be held on Tuesday, Sept 29 and Thursday, Oct. 1 from 6-8 p.m. at the high school band room on Delaware Street. (The former Ironton Junior High building.)

The band will do its best to provide large instruments, such as percussion and low brass, but there are no guarantees, so please try to secure your own instrument. All instruments are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The band boosters will be selling alumni band T-shirts. The price is $10 each.

Attire for the performance should include blue jeans and the alumni t-shirt. If you do not plan on buying a T-shirt, please wear a white shirt with Ironton markings.

Songs have yet to be finalized, but will include the current arrangement of “Men of Ironton.” Very moderate and simple marching may be required.

Those alumni who were members of the flags and majorettes as well as alumni drum majors may choose that position or are welcome to participate as instrumentalists.

Those interested can e-mail Jeff Sanders at jsanders_ic@scoca-k12.org. Members look forward to seeing all at the rehearsals and at homecoming.
