HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — In honor of American Diabetes Month, The Joslin Diabetes Center education affiliate at St. Mary’s will welcome Will Cross, motivational speaker, for a public presentation on overcoming the challenges of diabetes.

The presentation will be Monday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. in Room 212 of St. Mary’s Regional Heart Institute.

While working to overcome the challenges of diabetes, Cross has devoted most of his life to demonstrating how goal setting, preparation and determination can make seemingly insurmountable obstacles negotiable.

Cross has successfully climbed Mount Everest, the highest peaks on all seven continents and walked to the North and South Poles.

In 2001, he climbed 15 unmapped, unexplored mountains in Greenland, and has traveled to Patagonia, Mountains of the Moon, the Sahara Desert and the Thar Desert of India.

Cross earned a bachelor of arts degree from Allegheny College and a master of science degree in education from Duquesne University.

To register for the presentation, or for more information, call the Joslin Diabetes Center education affiliate at St. Mary’s at (304) 526-8363.
