Whaley’s OSU photo makes contest finals

There is an old cliché that says, “A picture is worth a thousand words.”

In the case of Jane Whaley, a picture might be worth a thousand dollars.

Whaley — an avid Ohio State football fan — decorated her front yard on 10th Street in Ironton with skeletons in Buckeye apparel. Four of them spelled out “O-H-I-O.” A copy of the contest photo is pictured to the right.

It’s now November and Whaley has a chance to use those photos to earn a trip to the Rose Bowl to see Ohio State play.

Nationwide Insurance has a photo contest and Whaley’s entry is one of the semifinalists. The person getting the most votes wins the contest and the bowl trip. Voting will be held until Dec. 9 and people may cast multiple votes but only one vote per day.

Fans can help Whaley win the contest by going on line and voting for her entry. To vote, go online at http://www.onyoursideline.com

Those voting will be eligible for weekly sweepstakes prizes.
