Jr. Female Flyers roll past OVC

The St. Joseph Junior Female Flyers rolled past the Ohio Valley Christian Lady Defenders 38-10 Friday.

Molly Miller had 12 points and Hannah Miller scored 10 to lead the Female Flyers.

Also scoring for St. Joseph were Sidney Payne with 5 points, Amber Neal and Nicole Dickess 4 each, Haley Bartrum 2 and Katie Roach 1.

Carman had 5 points, Westfall 3 and Barr 2 for OVC.

St. Joseph hosts Hannan, W.Va., at 5 p.m. Monday and then plays Rock Hill at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Ironton High School gym on Delaware Street.

Junior Panthers drop 3 of 4 games

The Chesapeake Junior Panthers’ 7th grade team dropped three of four games during the past month.

The Panthers lost 33-26 to Rock Hill, 44-42 to Gallipolis and 39-32 to Coal Gove only to bounce back and beat South Point 33-29.

The 8th grade posted two wins as they won 50-44 over South Point and downed Coal Grove 39-30.
