CINCINNATI — Safety Roy Williams agreed to a one-year deal to stay with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Williams signed with the Bengals as a free agent from Dallas last year and was the starting strong safety when the season began.

He suffered a forearm injury in the third game of the season and never fully healed, limiting him to one more game. He went on injured reserve Nov. 13 and became a free agent after the season.

The Bengals’ medical staff has cleared Williams to fully participate in offseason conditioning. He was a five-time Pro Bowl player with Dallas before leaving for Cincinnati.
