Gloria Jean Thacker, 62, of Ironton, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 24, 2010. She was the wife of Royce E. Thacker, who survives.
Gloria was preceded in death by her mother, Mary McCaffrey, brother, Danny McCaffrey, and very special grandparents, Clinton and Priscilla Morris.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her five children, Royce II (Bonnie) Thacker of Napoleon, Mich. Libby (Danny) Adams of Ironton, Eric (Darlene) Thacker of Marengo, Millicent (Dennis) Lessard of Grass Lake, Mich., and Bret (Jennie) Thacker of Tuscumbia, Ala. Gloria is also survived by one sister, Debra Markel of Ironton; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Gloria was retired from CVS Pharmacy. She dedicated her life to the well-being of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the hundreds of children who passed through her life doing Little League sports, school and church activities.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. at Woodland Cemetery on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ironton. The Rev. David Ritchie and her nephew, Scot Markel, will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg.
