Mr. Richard “Ricky“ Michael Fannin, 41, of Ironton, was greeted by his Savior when he entered Heaven on Monday, March 7, 2011. The Ironton native was born June 2, 1969, the son of P. Michael and Carolyn J. (Roadcup) Fannin of Ironton.

Ricky was a 1988 graduate of Ironton High School. He went on to earn his associate degree from Faulkner State Junior College in Mobile, Ala. and his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University. He owned and operated Fannin Appraisal Inc. and was a certified real estate appraiser. He was a member of Christ Temple Church in Huntington, W.Va., and Central Christian Church in Ironton. Ricky had a passion for golf. He received all-state honors while playing for the Ironton High School golf team and was a former club champion at the Ironton Country Club and Woodson Bend Golf Course. Ricky was well known for his golf talents and was a former REMAX World Long Drive Championship Finalist. Ricky was a great man who loved the Lord and his family and friends more than anything else.

Ricky was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather,Walden R. Fannin; his maternal grandparents; Orion and Lewrena Roadcup; and mother in-law, Gloria Hutchinson.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Amanda Hutchinson Fannin; two sisters: Debbie (Curtis) Cooke in Ironton and Christi (Aaron) Heighton of Ironton; 12 nieces and nephews, Joshua Cooke, Mariah Cooke, Maddie Heighton, Matthew Heighton, Mitchell Heighton, Kenny Jackson, Mackenzie Steinsberger, Isaiah Abrams, Zoe and Asher Hutchinson, and Evelyn and Moses Holland; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. W.R. (Helen) Fannin of Ironton; aunt, Joan Fannin of Ironton; uncle and aunt, Patric and Mary Fannin of Ironton; aunt, Juanita Roadcup of Ironton; uncle and aunt, Orion and Patty Roadcup of Ironton; father in-law, Donald Hutchinson; two sisters in-law, Carrie Holland and Courtney Hutchinson; and two brothers-in-law, Isaac Hutchinson and Josh Holland.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Central Christian Church, Ironton with the Pastor Kevin West, Pastor Chuck Lawrence and Minister Brent Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church on Friday. Pallbearers will be Aaron Heighton, Curtis Cooke, Josh Cooke, Isaac Hutchinson, Jordan Fannin and Christian Fannin. Tracy Brammer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
