Harry Potter and the Toledo Symphony to perform at SSU

PORTSMOUTH — The Toledo Symphony will return to Shawnee State University’s Vern Riffe Center for the Arts at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18 – this time with Merwin Siu as Harry Potter, host for the evening.

This is the 67th year for the Toledo Symphony. The symphony has grown from a core group of 22 part-time musicians to a regional orchestra that employs nearly 80 professional musicians who consider the Toledo Symphony their primary employer.

Siu will guide the audience through owls, wands, wizards and ogres mesmerizing the audience with the amazing John Williams’ music from the Harry Potter films and other magic-themed music.

The concert is part of the Charles Varney Classic Series. Tickets are $36 to $38 for regular admission; $34 to $36, senior admission; and $29 to $32, student admission. To purchase tickets, call the McKinley Box Office at (740) 351-3600 or visit
