Tribune ‘glad’ for one-time Saturday issue

Published 12:00 am Sunday, December 4, 2011

For just about as long as most people can remember, The Tribune has been delivered Sunday through Friday with no Saturday edition. On just one weekend later this month, that will change.

On Saturday, Dec. 17, The Tribune will produce a special “Glad Tidings” edition that will be a showcase of the newspaper’s content and an avenue for advertisers to reach as much as three times as many consumers as they would in a normal edition.

This free Saturday edition of The Tribune will be delivered using a combination of distribution efforts to every single household in our core market area that includes Ironton, Coal Grove, South Point, Hanging Rock, Pedro and a few other outlying areas.

It will be delivered to the more than 150 dealer locations and free newspaper boxes in Chesapeake and Proctorville.

The end result is that more than 18,000 copies of this special edition will reach Lawrence County consumers. This is a way to offer advertisers a unique opportunity to make a last-minute push before Christmas.

It also will provide our current readers a little something extra and give many non-subscribers a taste of what The Tribune offers each day and each week.

Make no mistake, this will not be just an ad circular. It will have legitimate, fresh news content and some interesting stories from right here in Lawrence County. It will have an opinion page. It will have a records page. It will have classifieds. It will have news and sports stories that aren’t in any other edition.

Essentially it is an extra edition of the paper brought right to the doorstep of many Lawrence County households.

Anyone who would like more information about this can contact me or a member of our sales team here at the office.

Although we won’t have a Saturday edition all the time, this is one opportunity to sit down on Saturday morning and get caught up on what is going on in Lawrence County.
