Eleven Kentucky residents targeted

 

The Lawrence County Grand Jury returned indictments for 11 counts of forgery this week.

According to Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Brigham Anderson, the United States Secret Service had been investigating a multi-state ring of people who where forging and cashing counterfeit checks. The investigation turned up 11 Kentucky residents who cashed the counterfeit checks in their own names at banks and grocery stores in Lawrence County.

Those indicted for forgery were:

Elizabeth Jones, 22, 206 State Highway 207, Rush, Ky.; Walter Warner, 41, 911 Chestnut Drive, Ashland, Ky.; Samantha Bertram, 23, 3224 Central Avenue, Ashland, Ky.; Todd Lawhorn, 32, 2910 West Pigeon Roost Road, Rush, Ky.; David Frazier, 26, 1023 29th St., Ashland, Ky.; Scott Sanchez, 32, 226 Iowa St., Ashland, Ky.; Lesley Church, 30, 7928 Paddle Creek Road, Catlettsburg, Ky.; Ryan Cornwell, 31, 275 State Route 1458, Ashland, Ky.; Joshua Church, 32, 7928 Paddle Creek Road, Catlettsburg, Ky.; Steven Vance, 28, 119 Blackburn Avenue, Ashland, Ky.; and Jerry Lanham, 54, 1224 Prospect Avenue, Worthington, Ky.

Other indictments, according to information from the office of Lawrence County Prosecutor J.B. Collier, Jr., were:

• Robert Early, 55, 412 Township Road 203W, Ironton, felonious assault.

• Dan E. Bean, 33, 2512 S. Sixth St., Ironton, grand theft.

• Trent M. Finley, 24, 229 Township Road 1301, Chesapeake, two counts of theft.

• Jimmy Jo Lambert, 24, 283 Private Drive 1577 County Road 25, Pedro, failure to register as sex offender.

• Sandra K. Compston, 28, Proctorville, theft, receiving stolen property and 12 counts of forgery.

• Winona V. Delawder, 39, 112 County Road 105, Kitts Hill, robbery.

• Shawn Harris, 32, 2868 ½ Forest Avenue, Ashland, Ky., DUI, driving while under suspension.

• Paul D. Lowe, 25, Chesapeake, theft and theft of firearms.

• Kristin R. McMillian, 35, 1751 State Route 775, Proctorville, felonious assault.

• Robert B. Holley, 45 316 Clay Hollow Road, Ashland, Ky., two counts of trafficking in spice.

• Joshua W. Tackett, 32, 19000 West Highway 60, Olive Hill, Ky., tampering evidence.

• Matthew Moon, 33, 174 Township Road 251, South Point, having weapons under a disability.

• Thomas Ratliff, 20, unknown address, aggravated burglary and two counts of assault.

• Gregory Loudenback, 34, 106 Township Road 1197, Chesapeake, tampering with coin machines.

• Everett Dean, 22, 24 Township Road 1336, Chesapeake, tampering with coin machines.

• Kevin Billups, 29, 1669 12th Avenue, Huntington, W.Va., receiving stolen property.

• Phillip Tolliver, 26, 59 Hammer Mill Road, Wurtland, Ky., failure to comply with order or signal of police officer, resisting arrest.

• Hershel Vanhoose, 37, unknown address, failure to notify change of address.

• Daniel Urah Wayne Lyons, 19, 511 S. Ninth St., Ironton, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

• Cory Crabtree, 18, 301 Helen St., South Point, burglary.

• Linda Thacker, 43, 370 Township Road 276N, South Point, criminal trespass.

• James Coleman, 22, 370 Township Road 276N, South Point, criminal trespass.

• David Jordan, 55, 187 Spruce Lane, Poca, W.Va., deception to obtain a dangerous drug.

• Kevin Canterberry, 47, 77 Township Road 1503, Chesapeake, 30 counts of deception to obtain a dangerous drug.

• Lisa Tomblin, 47, 90 Conley Branch Road, Chapmanville, W.Va., illegal processing of drug documents.

• Heather Thornsbury, 35, 182 Township Road 253E, Ironton, escape.
