Roberta Sandoval and Marc Blanchard, of Merced, Calif., announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Carla Blanchard, to Shawn Burgbacher, son of LuAnn Clinton, of Ironton, and John Burgbacher, of Flatwoods, Ky.

Carla is a 1996 graduate of Merced High School. She also graduated from Apollo College in Las Vegas and is a registered nurse. She is the granddaughter of William and Violet Terrill of Pahrump, Nev.

Shawn is a 2000 graduate of Russell High School. He attended Ashland Community College studying criminal justice and is employed at Car Studio. He is the grandson of Lu and Wayne Clinton of Ironton.

The wedding will be Oct. 14, 2013. Invitations will be sent.
