Bowl For Kids’ Sake to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-State

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-State is planning the 26th Annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake to be held on Monday, May 14 at Strike Zone Bowling Center in Huntington.

Due to increased enthusiasm within the community a second shift has been added so participants can bowl at either 5:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. Area businesses, companies, and other groups are invited to form teams of 4-5 persons who will solicit pledges and register to bowl during the event.

Inter-company competitions for most funds raised are encouraged. A minimum of $125 in pledges per person is required for participation. Cumulative prize packages are available based on the amount of funds raised.

In conjunction with this event area stock brokers will compete in the “Battle of the Brokers,” law firms will compete in the “Battle of the Barristers,” realtors will compete in the “Battle of the Realtors,” banks will compete in the “Battle of the Bankers,” car dealerships will compete in the “Battle of the Car Dealers” and CPA firms will compete in the “Make Your Deductions Count” competition. Those employed by any of the aforementioned firms are welcomed to enter your firm in the competition for most funds raised according to category to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.

The annual event is a major fundraiser for the agency and helps with the cost of day to day operations and services for children. All funds raised during this event stay here in the Tri-State to serve children in the Huntington, Ashland and Ironton area through the mentoring, guidance and friendship of volunteer mentors.
