Perez, former Reds players to work charity youth camp in Marietta

MARIETTA — Dream of playing for the Cincinnati Reds? How about some tips from former Reds themselves?

The annual Cincinnati Reds Legends Charity Youth Baseball Clinic featuring former Reds players as instructors will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 18-19-20 at the V.F.W. Baseball Field, 16650 State Route 559 in Marietta.

Among former Reds appearing this year will be Hall of Fame first baseman Tony Perez. Other former greats include Don Gullett, Brett Boone, Ron Oester, Todd Benzinger, Leo Cardenas, Ryan Freel, Herm Winningham and former National League Most Valuable Player Dave “The Cobra” Parker.

Other surprise stars may also attend.

Only 125 spots are available. Fee is $125 if registered by June 1. Deadline is June 13 for all entries. Proceeds from this year’s camp will benefit the Oklahoma City-based “Feed The Children,” an organization to help feed hungry families in this part of the country.
