Published 9:29am Tuesday, July 17, 2012

BURLINGTON — As a breeze rustled through the shelter house at the Burlington Commons Park, volunteers Sue Howard and Harriette Ramsey taped down plastic tablecloths to get ready for Monday’s lunch for area children. The weekday lunch is part of the USDA Summer Food Service Program that provides a free meal to children ages 1 to 18 and individuals with disabilities up to 21 years. The program is locally sponsored by the Ironton-Lawrence County Community Action Organization.
