Carol Watson

Carol J. Watson, 72, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. She was the daughter of Lewis and Garnet Callicoat. Survived by husband, Augie Watson; son, Randy (Laura) Watson; grandchildren, Heather Watson and Shaun Watson; great-grandson, Brody Burchett; sister, Peggy Fyffe; and good friend, Cathy Nance. She was preceded in death by son, Gregory Alan Watson and brother, Larry Callicoat. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Graumlich Funeral Home, 1351 S. High St., Columbus, where service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Pastor Shawn Beauchamp of Canaan Land Church will officiate. Charles Warman

Charles Edward Warman, 81, of Ironton, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Ironton Campus. He was born Sept. 14, 1930, in Boyd County, Ky., the son of the late Joseph Charles and Margie Sammons Warman. He was retired from the U.S. Army.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William David Fannin; a daughter, Pamela Jean White; and brothers, Royal, Haskell and Calvin Warman.

Surviving are his wife, Pauline Garnett Proctor Warman; two sons, Joseph Charles Warman of Rush, Ky., and William Edward “Peewee” Warman of Barboursville, W.Va.; two daughters, Patricia Ann Shafter and Deborah K. Snyder, both of Ironton; two sisters, Waletta Wright of Summersville, W.Va., and Henretta Evans of Rush; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Lazear Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Rice. Burial will be in Warman family cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

 

 Donald Hamilton

Donald Nelson Hamilton of Ironton, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at the age 79. He was born Feb. 14, 1933, the son of the late Freeman and Edith Hamilton. He was the owner of Hamilton and Son Plumbing.

He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Hamilton and one daughter Brenda Gee. He is survived by one son, Rick Hamilton of Ironton, and three daughters, Donna Collins of Ironton, Linda Justice of Sugar Creek, and Debbie Eley of Ironton. He has seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was a Korean War veteran and a member of the VFW Post 8850.

In keeping with Donald wishes of cremation there will be no visitation. Graveside service will be in Woodland Cemetery Friday at 11 a.m. Section 11. VFW Post 8850 will perform military graveside rites. O’Keefe-Baker is in charge of the arrangements.

 

 Samuel Hicks

Samuel James Hicks, 87, of Huntington, W.Va., dies Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation. There will be a private family service. Burial will be in Dock’s Creek Cemetery, Kenova, W.Va. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home.

 

 Louis Clark

Louis Sylvester Clark, 84, of Worthington, Ky., died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Wurtland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wurtland, Ky. Funeral will be held at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky., at 11 a.m. Friday, with Pastor Mark Russell. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods. Military Honors will be conducted at the graveside by American Legion Post 93 of Kenova, W.Va.
