One arrested in dog slayings

Published 10:23am Tuesday, August 28, 2012

A Pedro man has been arrested in the brutal killing of two family dogs.

Brian L. Sharp, 20, of 339 Township Road 324, Pedro, was arrested by Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office this morning.

He is charged with prohibition concerning companion animals, which is a first degree misdemeanor. He is also charged with criminal trespassing is a fourth- degree misdemeanor.

On Saturday Josie and Mike Scythes, 397 State Route 373, Pedro, came home to find their two dogs stabbed and with their throats slashed.

There is no clear motive at this time for the crime, according to Sheriff Jeff Lawless.

Sharp allegedly named another accomplice.

More proof that humans are the most evil living thing on this planet. They need to ROT in jail with their counterparts.

Theres a special place in hell for guys like this. Hang a sign saying Dog Slayer around their necks and march them around Courthouse until they drop. Jails too good for them.
    Pick a Very HOT day.

There could be several motives, the most likely being theft but the dogs got in the way. The other could be just another crazy person living in Lawrence County, there does seem to be an overabundance.

I like MikeHaneys thought of this sicko gaining some real friendly companions in prison – what a happy thought!

Misdemeanors are really not good enough for this guy – attempted burglary, criminal trespass with intent to harm, anything that puts him in prison. Heck, for all we know he is a serial killer in training!

I think a previous article stated they were going to charge the person(s) with cruelty to animals which is a M-2. I think the Sheriff is trying to charge these people with the harshest crime he can as prohibition is a M-1

I think our Sheriff worked hard and got a quick arrest on this and should be thanked.

With 50 million abortions since Roe vs Wade, I don’t want to imagine how the baby would try to find a safe haven in his/her mothers womb to escape the surgeons knife, like one of these animals tried to escape to his doghouse??

I hope the sheriff is charging these two with the most stringent offense.
Hard to figure what prohibition is and how it connects with this cruel act.

Give them the maximum under the law. Maybe their new buddies in prison will befriend them.
Also, if I were the owners I’d be looking for a good lawyer and jury trial.
If they own anything at all I’d make sure their possesions were history.

He and the other guy are two sick people.
They need the same thing done to them.
Animals are better than they are.
God help him if he done this to my dogs.

I can’t get this heartbreaking story out of my mind. I cannot imagine having that much evil inside you to do something like this. I hope these disgusting individuals pay for this, and don’t get a slap on the wrist.
