WEST PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth West Senators scored the game’s only goal just before halftime as they got past the St. Joseph Flyers 1-0 on Tuesday.

West scored with 1:28 left in the first period on a goal by Aaron Craft in the evenly matched contest.

“In a tightly contested match, one bounce of the ball can determine the outcome,” said Flyers’ coach Tim Hopkins. “In spite of a great team effort, the ball just happened to bound the other way. Hats off to Portsmouth West. They are a much-improved side this season.”
