At approximately 7:15 a.m. a gold 1999 Ford Ranger, driven by Michael Harvey, was westbound on State Route 141, at mile post 21, just west of Waterloo, according to Trooper Rob McClelland of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The brothers were on their way to Symmes Valley schools.

“The car went off the right side of the roadway into a deep ditch line, struck a culvert and then a tree,” McClelland said. “There were no witnesses but people arrived shortly thereafter.”

The brothers were flown to Cabell by Med Flight. Michael sustained a head injury and Matthew a leg injury, the trooper said.

The vehicle was totaled. The accident remains under investigation.
