Published 10:52am Friday, September 21, 2012

At its regular Thursday meeting, the Lawrence County Commission:

• Advertised for public hearing and viewing for the purpose to vacate a portion of Township Road 146 in Union Township;

• Approved a proclamation naming October as domestic violence awareness month;

• Approved right of way permits for Horizon Telecom;

• Approved advertising for request for qualifications for FAA projects as requested by the Airpark Advisory Committee;

• Approved a lease purchase agreement with First Secure Finance for emergency HVAC for offices of county recorder and county engineer in the amount of $215,000;

• Approved landslide agreement for a site on County Road 2.

  1. Poor Richard

    Approved a lease purchase agreement for two county offices for emergency HVAC?? What does that mean exactly? County taxpapers are paying over $215,000 for new heating/cooling? really? what were they using before? An ‘emergency’ – what constitutes an ‘emergency’? My gosh, we could build one third of our new jail with that kind of money!

    And we’re going to what? advertise for someone to come up with new FAA projects? What does that mean? We don’t have any projects at the airport (other than personal airplane central) so someone needs to make some up?

    Well, maybe that guy in the other IT article that committed domestic violence may have received a harsher sentence if he went to court in October ‘domestic violence awareness month’ ya think? na, men don’t concern themselves with such trivial things.

    Well, let’s see, Charlie Creek was township road 144 and Haines Branch was 148, where is 146?
