Getting birth certificate simple in IrontonPublished 10:59am Wednesday, October 3, 2012
Have you ever been in a hurry, and without thinking, put your clothes in the washer with your wallet still in the pocket, driver’s license included?
Worse yet, have you lost or misplaced your driver’s license? Maybe, after using it as identification for cashing a check, or while making a purchase, or just misplaced it.
This could be very frustrating, except you have the Office of Vital Statistics, here, local at the City of Ironton Health Department.
This is to your advantage!
As long as you were born in the State of Ohio.
Since Jan. 1, 2011, we have had the ability to issue birth certificates for the entire state.
You can stop in our office Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and leave with a certified copy of your birth certificate. We have a short form to fill out and you will need $25 cash for each certificate purchased.
We also process mail requests. Just send us your name, date of birth, a $25.00 money order, and a S.A.S.E. to mail it back to you, and we’ll save you on gas.
Should you need information for out of state certificates, I can also help. I have the addresses and phone numbers for where to write or call to obtain a birth certificate from across the United States.
