Trick or Treat times set

Calling all mummies… and daddies: Trick or Treat nights and times have been set in many local communities.

Those who live in Ironton, Hanging Rock and Coal Grove as well as Russell, Ky., take note that Trick or Treat will be Thursday, Oct. 25. The hours for Coal Grove will be 6-7:30 p.m. Hours for Ironton, Russell and Hanging Rock will be 6-8 p.m.

As for Chesapeake, Proctorville, South Point, Huntington, W.Va., and Ashland, Ky., Trick or Treat night will be Tuesday, Oct. 30. The Trick or Treat hours will be 6-8 p.m. for Proctorville and Huntington; the hours for Chesapeake are 5:30-7 p.m. Ashland and South Point hours are 6-7:30 p.m.

The Safe Trick or Treat in the city of Ironton, sponsored by Ironton businesses, will be 5:30-7 p.m. Oct. 22 at the city center and at various participating retailers.

The annual Halloween parade will follow at 7 p.m. at the Center Street fountain. Costume judging is at Second Street near the Splashpark and the former Austyn’s restaurant.

Prizes will be awarded for the best witch, most patriotic, best ghost, most original and the ugliest/scariest.
