Lady Hornets down Meigs in sectional

COAL GROVE — It was played like a tournament game is supposed to be played.

The Coal Grove Lady Hornets won a hard-fought, thrilling five-set volleyball game over the Meigs Lady Marauders Tuesday in the Division III sectional tournament.

The Lady Hornets won 25-22, 23-25, 25-23, 15-25 and 16-14 in the tiebreaker.

Kala Landers scored 17 points and Ashley Adkins and Cami Hillier 12 points each to lead Coal Grove.

Bailey Harrison had 10 kills and Cheyenne Bellomy 8 kills to aid the win.

Coal Grove will host Wheelersburg at 4 p.m. Saturday in the sectional finals.
