Maxine Cox

Maxine Rice Cox, 95 of Ironton, passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at Kingsbrook LifeCare Center in Ashland, Ky. The Russell, Ky., native was born Jan. 20, 1917, the daughter of the late John and Violet Davis Rice.

Mrs. Cox was a graduate of Russell High School and was a dispatcher for the Ohio State Highway Patrol for 14 years, retiring in 1981. She attended Christ Episcopal Church in Ironton. She was a member of the Altar Guild, Daughters of the King, and the Red Hat Society. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Eugene Rice; and sister, Bernice Hogston.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Fred Weber of Ironton; daughter, Deborah Cox and her partner Jan Korns of Gambier, five grandchildren, Melissa Kellogg, Jennifer (Frank) Mullens, Philip (Lara) Weber, Nick (Mary Beth) Weber and Natalee McDowell; and 11 great grandchildren, Ashley, Justin, Korey, Cecili, Max, Ava, Mia, Rex, Caitlin, Taylor and Mary Evelyn.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hayes-Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Sally Schisler and the Rev. Robert Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. At the family’s request, donations can be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Ervin Owens

Ervin “Pete” Orville Owens, 89, of Coal Grove, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at his residence

Edna Ridgeway

Edna Flora Ridgeway, 88, of Ashland, Ky., died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at Kingsbrook LifeCare Center. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Preston Family Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Maddy. Glen Jones

Glen Roy Jones, 71, of Chesapeake, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at home. A graveside service will be held at noon Wednesday at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va., by Pastor Jody Fortner. Bevin Kiser

Bevin Keely McVay Kiser, 38, of Milton, W.Va., died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. A memorial service will be noon Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church, 305 E. St., South Charleston, W.Va. Visitation from 11 a.m. until noon at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Hall Funeral Home. Thelma White, 66, of Columbus, formerly of Athalia, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at Grant Medical Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Hall Funeral Home.

 

Shirlene Hardesty

Shirlene Hardesty, 68, of Chesapeake, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Hall Funeral Home.
