The BP/University Mart on Liberty Avenue in Ironton was once again the site of an armed robbery Tuesday.

Ironton Police responded to a call at 12:05 p.m.

“Upon arrival, officers spoke with the employee, who advised that two white males entered the store, brandished a weapon and demanded money from him,” according to Chris Bowman, acting Ironton Police Chief, in a prepared release.

The cashier gave the two men an undetermined amount of money after which the suspects fled on foot.

The men are described as white with medium build. One man was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and yellow-colored surgical mask covering his face. The second man was wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt with a blue bandanna covering his face.

Anyone with any information about this robbery is asked to call the Ironton Police Department detectives section at (740) 532-5606.
