ODOT reviews applicants for post

Published 9:34am Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Applications for the post of transportation administrator for the Ohio Department of Transportation garage in Lawrence County are currently under review.identification

The position became vacant on Oct. 5 following the dismissal of the then administrator, according to Kathleen Fuller, public information officer for ODOT District 9.

As of last week ODOT officials had not conducted any interviews of those seeking the job at the highway maintenance facility that employees 26 full-time workers.

“Each application would be reviewed,” Fuller said. “We have an online process but they can submit a resume on top of it.”

The job was posted following the vacancy with applications accepted through Nov. 9.

“Who they interview depends on the number of applications,” Fuller said. “I am not aware they have conducted interviews as of last week.”

Right now Larry Helscel, the district office’s labor relations officer, is the interim administrator.

“We have an acting person from our district office (in Chillicothe),” Fuller said. “He has had the experience and his background warranted to be an acting county manager.”
