John Spears

John Burkley Spears, 69, of Batavia, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Mercy Hospital Clermont in Batavia. Funeral services will be noon Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Ross Cemetery and visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mary Ethel Patrick, 75, of South Point, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, W.Va. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with Pastor Bill Markins officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Junior William Pemberton, 85, of Chesapeake, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at home. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Highland Memorial Gardens. There is no visitation. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.

William Layne, 83, of Ironton, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.

 

Susan Kidd

Susan Kidd, 60, of Ironton, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at her home. She was the wife of Wayne Kidd, who survives. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.

Lorranie Sparks Blanton

Nov. 4, 1941-Nov. 26, 2012

Lorranie (Sparks) Blanton, 71, of Oak Hill, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. She was born Nov. 4, 1941, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Robert Nickels and Jessie Sparks Nickels. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Horner

She is survived by her husband, Clarence Blanton; three sons, Jeffery (Carol) Blanton of Pedro, Robert (Tracie) Blanton of Franklin Furnace, and Carl (Rhonda) Blanton of Oak Hill; one daughter, Donna Blanton of Eurkea, Ill._; one sister, Loretta Sanders; 10 grandchildren, Megan, Michael, Kristen, Samantha, Natosha, Courtney, Bethany, Brianna, Adrianna, Brooklyn and her seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Rachel, Lana, Chase, Ryker, Phoenix, Aiden, and soon to be Kadence.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Davis Funeral Home in South Webster with Elder David Bower officiating and interment in Jackson Furnace Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today and until the services on Friday at Davis Funeral Home
