Jerry Williams

Jerry Dayle Williams, 58, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Ky. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.

He was born Feb. 26, 1954, in Huntington, a son of the late Gene Floyd and Helen Marie Booth Williams. Jerry attended Milton High School and was a graduate of Huntington Business College. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Big Red 1 Unit.

He is survived by two daughters, Carrie B. Roy and Maya A. Williams, both of Chesapeake; one son, Spencer G. Williams of Chesapeake; the love of his life, Alice L. Williams; one brother, Lyndall Williams of Culloden; one sister, Jeanita Weninger of Ladson, S.C.; and many loving nieces and nephews.

 Bobby Shope

Bobby Dale Shope, 52, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Carlton Manor in Washington Courthouse. The Arco, Idaho, native was born April 12, 1960, the son of Jeane Pancake Shope of Ironton and the late Bob Shope. He is also survived by his wife, Jacqueline Kirby Shope.

Mr. Shope attended Ironton High School and was a former self-employed carpet installer. He was of the Protestant faith.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Shope.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sabrina Shope of Palatka, Fla.; two sons, Cody Shope of Palatka, and Josh Shope of Morehead, Ky., a brother, David Shope of Ironton, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery and visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Dorothy “Doris” Cecelia Murphy, 78, of Huntington, W.Va., died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. Services will be held at a later date.
