Once the St. Joseph Female Flyers got going, they couldn’t stop.

Leading by six at the end of the first quarter, the Female Flyers erupted in the second quarter for 27 points en route to a 69-23 win over the Ohio Valley Christian Lady Defenders on Thursday.

“We had some good looks early and we missed some shots in the first quarter. We got the flow of the game going the way we wanted in the second quarter and when we did we just took off,” said St. Joseph coach Nick Miller.

St. Joseph (5-1) was up 13-7 at the end of the first quarter.

But Amber Neal scored 10 points and Hannah Miller 9 points in the second quarter as the Female Flyers outscored OVC 27-6 to take a 40-13 halftime cushion.

St. Joseph outscored the Lady Defenders 11-5 in the third quarter and it was 51-18.

Rachel Martin scored 6 points and Haley Bartram 4 points off the bench in the fourth quarter for St. Joseph.

Hannah Miller scored 17 points, Neal 15 and Lynsey Booker 11 to lead St. Joseph.
