VINCENT — One faucet said hot, the other said cold.

Guess which faucet the Chesapeake Panthers got stuck with?

The Panthers hit just 16 of 53 shots for a frigid 30 percent in a 64-40 loss to the Warren Warriors on Saturday.

Warren (5-0) picked the hot faucet and hit 27 of 54 shots for 50 percent.

The Panthers trailed 11-9 at the end of the first quarter and 26-18 at the half.

Caleb Lindsey scored with 5:24 left in the third quarter to get the Panthers within six, but Chesapeake’s shooting remained cold and Warren took advantage by going on a 9-0 run to lead 37-22 at the 2:40 mark.

The Warriors outscored Chesapeake 8-6 the rest of the quarter and took a 45-28 lead into the fourth quarter.

Javon Thompson scored 16 points to lead the Panthers (3-2).

Evan French scored 23 points for Warren. Michael Hall and Reece Patton had 11 each.
