Joe and Ginger Gillenwater, of Kitts Hill, welcomed their first son, Eric, to ring in the New Year. Eric weighed 7 pounds/10 ounces and was 20 inches long when he was born at 10:46 a.m. at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Kitts Hill couple have New Year’s baby

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The first baby of the New Year  is Eric Gillenwater of Kitts Hill. He was born at Cabell Huntington Hospital at 10:46 a.m. Tuesday, weighing 7 pounds and 10 ounces and was 20 inches long. He is the Gillenwaters’ first son and their third child. His first outfit was provided by Cabell Huntington Hospital nurse Deanna Donahoe who made the snowman outfit.

Also the hospital’s labor and delivery and mother-baby units gave the family a gift basket filled with items to mark their child being the hospital’s first birth of 2013. Each year, more than 2,600 babies are born at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
