Donna Kelley

Donna Lou Fortune Kelley, 79, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. The Ironton native was born Feb. 3, 1933, the daughter of the late Clifford and Elizabeth Crance Fortune.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Emerson Kelley, who passed away December 1983. Mrs. Kelley attended Ironton City Schools. She was a clerk for several different grocery stores, which include, A&P, Kroger, and Schaffer Grocery Store. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Ironton. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Fortune and Frank Fortune. She is survived by sister-in-law, Clarabelle Beckett of Ironton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Lois Loper of Ironton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ewell Stamper

Ewell Eugene “Blackie” Stamper, 61 of Pedro, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born Jan. 10, 1951, the son of the late Eugene and Eileen White Stamper. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Kay Koster Stamper, whom he married Dec. 3, 1971. Mr. Stamper was a 1968 graduate of Rock Hill High School and 1997 graduate of Shawnee State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in social science. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a former employee for AK Steel for 23 years. He was of the Methodist faith. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Ewell Eugene Stamper II and his wife, Amy Jo of Pedro; a daughter, Angela Day of Pedro; two granddaughters, Sarah Day and Kierra Stamper; and a step grandson, James Queen. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery with Rev. Jim Lee Cremeans officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. Roger Coleman

Roger F. Coleman, 61, of Flatwoods, Ky., formerly of St. Charles, Ill., died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at his residence. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday,at St. Mary’s Church in Utica, Ill.,, with Monsignor James Swaner officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Vincent Cemetery in LaSalle, Ill.

Genora “Genny” Elliott, 87 of Bartow, Fla., died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at home.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Ky., with Pastor Mark Wilson officiating. Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Michael Dale “Mike” Adkins, Sr., 59, of Raceland, Ky., died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at his home. He was the husband of Ruth Lunsford, who survives.
