Dragons roll past Redmen in OVC

PROCTORVILLE — Fairland Dragons’ coach Nathan Speed was worried about a letdown after a big win over Chesapeake.
Final score: Fairland 87, Rock Hill 55.
Worries over.
“Our fear was having a letdown. We really pushed for the kids to play with intensity. We came out and played hard the whole game,” said Fairland coach Nathan Speed.
Evan Maddox had 15 points and 7 rebounds to lead four players in double figures for the Dragons, 8-3 overall and 4-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Cody Midkiff had 12 points and 7 rebounds, Tyler Campbell had 11 points and Kyle Raines finished with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Rock Hill (2-8, 0-4) was led by John Jenkins with 14 points and Evan Morris with 13. Austin Collins had 9 points and 8 rebounds.
Midkiff had 5 points in the first quarter to offset 6 by Jenkins as Fairland took a 20-11 lead.
Midkiff came back with 7 points in the second quarter while Morris had 9 points for as each team scored 17 points and it was 37-28 at the half.
Maddox poured in 11 points in the third quarter to match Rock Hill’s total. The Dragons went on a 12-0 run to start the half and led 63-39 at the end of the quarter.
Jake Wireman had 6 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Fairland reserves as they outscored Rock Hill 24-16. Jenkins scored 6 points for the Redmen.
