The St. Joseph Female Flyers must have used a Swiffer to clean off the cobwebs.
The Female Flyers showed no signs of their nine-day layoff as they rolled past the New Boston Lady Tigers 59-26 on Saturday.
Hannah Miller scored 19 points and Amber Neal scored 14 as St. Joseph improved to 10-2 on the season.
“Our kids came out and did a good job considering the layoff. We shot the ball pretty well and did a nice job overall,” said St. Joseph coach Nick Miller.
The injury-riddled Lady Tigers were led by Kiersten McGraw with 18 points.
“We knew they had some injuries at guard and we pressured them and it worked out for us,” said coach Miller.
Neal scored 6 points in the first quarter as St. Joseph took a 15-4 lead.
Hannah Miller scored 7 points and Neal had 6 more as the Female Flyers opened up a 38-15 halftime cushion.
Miller scored 8 more points in the third quarter as the lead ballooned to 55-24. McGraw scored 7 of New Boston’s 9 points in the quarter.
The Female Flyers visit Whiteoak on Monday.
