Briggs Library offers free computer training for adults

IRONTON —Through a partnership with Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD) and Connect Ohio, basic computer and Internet training is being offered to Lawrence County adults at various Briggs Lawrence County Public Library locations.

Training classes are forming now and are specifically designed for adults with little or no technology experience.

The training is part of Connect Ohio’s Every Citizen Online (ECO) program and is free for any interested adult.

 

Training includes:

• Six-hours of coursework

• Computer basics (turning it on/off, using a mouse and cursor, opening programs)

• Introduction to the Internet (opening a browser, searching a topic)

• Overview of the many benefits of using the Internet (online shopping, accessing benefit information, such as Social Security, BMV, and healthcare, communicating with friends/family through e-mail and social media)
