Good Cents Thrift is hidden gem all its own

Published 12:00am Sunday, February 24, 2013

I was running errands downtown and happened upon a store that I wasn’t aware of and wonder if other shoppers have missed it as well? It is Good Cents Thrift, 314 Center St., approximately across from Wendy’s.

It looks very small from the outside, but there is a huge room once you get inside, filled with a delightfully large and eclectic inventory.

Everything is neat, clean and well-displayed.

I spent a rewarding hour there and found some upholstery material to make cushions for my porch this spring and a hand painted plant holder to match, two very unique plates, and a couple of good paperbacks from a huge selection. I’m taking my husband back for a look at their tool display.

The young man who runs the store with his father was willing to bargain and gave me his business card which read “If we don’t have it, we will find it.!”

I like that attitude and strongly believe this is the kind of store that can succeed in Ironton: one that offers interesting, one-of-a-kind things that you won’t find elsewhere.

Go see for yourself. Happy shopping!
