Kerns takes lead at

Davidson tournament

DAVIDSON, N.C.— Marshall golfer Nathan Kerns fired a 1-under 71 to lead the Herd to a second-place effort after Day 1 of the Davidson College Invitational.

The Herd’s round of 298 or 10-over is just one shot behind the host Wildcats and two shots ahead of Gardner-Webb.



Ironton has presale

for district tickets

Presale tickets for the Ironton Fighting Tigers Division III district championship game will be on sale until 2 p.m. Friday in the auto shop office at Ironton High School and at Iron City Hardware.

Tickets are $6 in advance. Ironton receivers only 25 percent of the presale. Fans are encouraged to buy in advance to help the school.
