Published 9:45am Wednesday, March 13, 2013

CHESAPEAKE — Operation TLC is planning its first cleanup of the year as volunteers are asked to help pick up litter and trash in the eastern end of the county Saturday.

Target areas are the section of State Route 7 from the Chesapeake-Huntington Bridge to the 31st Street Bridge in Proctorville.

Workers are to meet at the Chesapeake Community Center at 8:45 a.m. where free coffee and donuts will be distributed along with free T-shirts for those helping out for the first time.

Volunteers will be supplied with trash bags, gloves and water for the communitywide effort.
