John Justice

John Allen Justice, 70, of Ironton, died Tuesday morning, March 26, 2013, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born Sept. 15, 1942, the son of the late Clarence Newton Justice and the late Mary Ethel Herrell Justice.

Mr. Justice was a graduate of Ironton High School and Ohio University. John was a Mason. He was the owner of Highway Hobby and later, employed as a teacher for the Rock Hill School District where he retired. He enjoyed history with focuses on Lawrence County, the Civil War, and World Wars I and II. He enjoyed automobiles, motorcycles, railroads, and was an avid reader of all literature. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ironton and also attended the Trinity Assembly of God in Coal Grove.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Pack; and his uncle and aunt, Normal Campbell and Hazel Justice Campbell, who raised John.

He is survived by a brother, Herman Justice of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Ford officiating assisted by High Priest, Michael Whitehead. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be Friday from 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m., Masonic services will begin at 12:15 p.m. at the funeral home. John’s family and friends are invited for a meal after interment to Trinity Assembly of God, 111 Lincoln St., Coal Grove. Bill Wyant

Bill L. Wyant, 85, of Chesapeake, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at home.  Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville by Pastor David Callicoat and Pastor Chris Day. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery.  Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

 

 

Martha Lease

Martha Ann Lease, 86, of Burlington, died Monday, March 25, 2013, at Heartland of Riverview. Funeral will be at noon Friday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Douglas C. Deborah Raymond

Deborah Tussey Raymond, 58, of South Point, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, in the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.

She was born Dec. 7, 1954, in Ashland, Ky., a daughter of the late Okie and Ruby Tussey Watkins. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Raymond; and by two brothers, Jonathon Watkins and Joseph Watkins.

Surviving are her companion of 22 years, Larry Akers of South Point; one daughter, Tina Broughton of South Point; four sisters, Ginger Watkins, Sandra Keeton and Terry Watkins, all of South Point, andBeverly Watkins of Ashland, Ky.; two brothers, David Watkins of Rockford, Ill. and and Greg Watkins of Bellefonte, Ky.; two grandchildren, Monica and Tiffany; and two great grandchildren, Jenson and Jacob.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Evans Funeral Home in Raceland, Ky., by the Dr. Tom Melvin.

Burial will be in the Caroline Cemetery in Raceland, Ky. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

 

 

Tammy Burkhardt

Tammy Dawn Elkins-Burkhardt, 53, of Ashland, Ky., died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. She was the wife of Michael Vernon Burkhardt, who survives. Funeral services will be at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky., at 11 a.m. Friday with burial to follow at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.

Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 6-8 p.m.
