Garnet Orthmeyer

Garnet Massie Orthmeyer, 82, widow of Fred F. Orthmeyer, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Born in Ironton, she was the daughter of the late Don and Eloise Massie.

She is survived by her children, Fred Orthmeyer, Janet (Robert) Prewitt, both of Lexington and Susan (Raymond) Assmar, Owensboro; sister, Elinor Lively, Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Erin (Kevin) Regenhold, Louisville, Kristin Osborne, Charleston, S.C., Grant Orthmeyer, Lexington and Ken (fiance’ Maggie Nelson) Osborne, Lexington; and great grandchildren Ella and Harper Regenhold. A special thanks to her caregivers, Hope Spoonamore, Sandy Spoonamore, Gail Faulkner and Susan Hefner.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Milward-Southland, conducted by the Rev. Charles Carter. Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time. Arnold Murray

Arnold Murray, 74, of Flatwoods, Ky., died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland Ky. Dr. Alvis Brown

Dr. Alvis Brown, 81, of Bronston, Ky., died Wednesday March 27, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va. The Louisa, Ky., native was born Dec. 30, 1931, a son of the late John and Sarah Varney Brown. He is survived by his wife Leona Cox Brown. Funeral services will be Monday, April 1, at 1 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton with Minister Jimmy Tingler officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Ezekiel Ray Mills, 57, of Huntington, W.Va., died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington. He is survived by his wife, Gayle Mills.
