2013 Reds’ Opening Day Roster

Published 12:29am Monday, April 1, 2013

CINCINNATI (AP) — The Reds made their final bullpen moves on Sunday, sending right-handed relievers Logan Ondrusek and Jose Arredondo to the minors.

Ondrusek, who struggled with his control during spring training, was optioned to Double-A Pensacola. Arredondo, who appeared in 66 games last season, was sent outright to Triple-A Louisville. The Reds chose to keep left-hander Manny Parra, who signed a one-year, $1 million deal in February, and right-hander Alfredo Simon, who pitched in 36 games last season.

Reliever Nick Masset went on the 15-day DL, continuing his recovery from shoulder surgery last September.

The Reds designated infielder Jason Donald for assignment to the minors and selected the contract of infielder Cesar Izturis. Infielder Emmanuel Burris, catcher Corky Miller and outfielders Denis Phipps and Derrick Robinson were reassigned to minor league camp.
