The driver of a 1995 International straight truck received minor injuries as he swerved off the road to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of him while going south bound on State Route 93 Wednesday, according to a report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Ironton Post.

The report said Kerry Walters, 52, of Salt Rock, W.Va., was citing for failure to control after his truck struck an embankment and overturned. Lt. Barry Call, post commander, said Walters was treated on scene and was not transported to a medical facility.

Call said Walters allegedly was not paying attention to the road when traffic slowed in front of him, causing him to swerve to avoid a collision.

The accident happened near mile post 3 around 5 p.m., according to the report.

Call said the accident caused a partial blockage of one lane until the truck was put back on its wheels and towed off scene.
