FRANKLIN FURNACE — Down but not out.

Trailing by seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Green Lady Bobcats put together and amazing eight-run rally to beat the South Webster Lady Jeeps 11-10 on Thursday.

“It was ugly early, and when they scored twice in the seventh inning it looked like the nail in the coffin,” said Green coach Dale Royse. “But our girls hung in there and didn’t quit. They responded. I was pleased with the character they showed.”

Each team scored twice in the first inning and then the Lady Jeeps got three runs in the second to lead 5-2.

Green got a run back in the third, but South Webster scored two in the fifth, one in the sixth and two more in the top of the seventh to lead 10-3.

With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Madi Applegagte walked and Micah Lewis was hit by a pitch. Jenna Crawford singled for a run and Erin Imes rifled a two-run single and it was 10-6.

Emma Salisbury had and RBI single and Devin Johnson reached on a fielder’s choice.

Abby Cline walked and Hannah Cline singled, Kaitlyn Hodson reached on an error and Applegate singled to make it 10-9.

Lewis then drilled a two-run double to give the Lady Bobcats the win.

Imes was 4-4 with four RBI to lead a 12-hit attack. Crawford and Johnson each went 2-3.
