Redwomen sweep Lady Jeeps

SOUTH WEBSTER — Rock Hill Redwomen coach Mary Jane Harper saw more than her team win six games last week.

After a doubleheader sweep of the South Webster Lady Jeeps on Saturday, Rock Hill improved to 6-0.

“They’re starting to come together and playing well as a team,” said Harper.

Sami Nixon was the winning pitcher in both games. She struck out five and walked two in each game and allowed four hits in the opener and three in the nightcap.

Rock Hill took a 2-0 lead in the first on a hit by Jenna Lane, doubles by Brooke Eastham, Brooke Hanshaw and Kaelynn Ellis.

Kenzi Harrah tripled and Riann Keating hit a sacrifice fly for a 3-0 lead I the fourth.

The final run scored in the fifth on a wild pitch after hits by Lane and Hanshaw.

In the second game, Lane went 4-4 as Rock Hill collected 15 hits. Ellis, Harrah and Keating were 2-4 and Hanshaw 2-5.

Harrah had a two-run double and Ellis had an RBI single in a 3-run fourth.

Harris double home two runs and Nixon singled in another as Rock Hill scored five times in the fifth.
