Pointers rout Hannan, 27-6

ASHTON, W.Va. — Now, that’s offense.

The South Point Pointers banged out 22 hits including 10 extra base hits as they pounded the Hannan Wildcats 27-6 on Thursday.

Brandon Boggs went 5-6 with two home runs and a double to lead the onslaught while Josh Browning was 4-4 with three doubles.

Chris Woodard got the win and also belted a home run. Woodard struck out nine, walked five and gave up nine hits.

Browning doubled home two runs as South Point took a 3-2 lead in the first inning.

Boggs had a two-run singled and Browning and RBI single and it was 6-2 in the second.

Boggs and Browning each doubled in a run in a four-run fourth and it was 10-6.

The Pointers batted around twice as they exploded for 17 runs in the fifth inning. Boggs hit home runs in his two at-bats.

Also having big days at the plate were Austin Majher who was 2-3, Jesse Lien who was 3-4, Alex Whitt 2-5 with a double and Trey Kearns was 2-4 with a double.
