Betty Gordon

Betty J. Chillison Gordon, 80, of Ironton, died at home on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. She was born June 16, 1932, to the late Ott and Castella Green Chillison. She was the wife of Harold J. Gordon.

She worked as a nursing assistant at Lawrence County General Hospital and retired from Dalton’s Nursing Home. She was a member of Quinn Chapel Church and a Girl Scout Leader of Troop 108.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold James (Mary) Gordon II of Ironton and Thomas (Mirijana) Gordon of Reynoldsburg; one daughter and son in-law, Susan (Glenn) Gordon-Jackson of Southfield, Mich.; four grandchildren, James Gordon and Jessica Gordon of Ironton, Jasmyne Jackson of Cleveland and Randy Gordon of Reynoldsburg; one sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Arthur Bullard of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be at Quinn Chapel on Saturday at 11 a.m. The church will be open one hour prior to the funeral for viewing. The Rev. James H. Stowe will be officiating. Visitation will be Friday 6-9 p.m. at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home and burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

 

 

Janice Speaks

Janice Karen Bays-Speaks, 71 of Wurtland, Ky., died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Raceland, 700 Franklin Ave., Raceland, Ky., with Pastor Tom Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods. Visitation will be on Friday from 6-9 p.m. at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods. Chuck Black

Charles F. “Chuck” Black, 56, of Proctorville, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.

 

 

James Chacos

James Mark Chacos, 91, of Chesapeake, died Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Jo-Lin Health Care Center. He was the husband of Kay Chacos, who survives. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, Wurtland, Ky.
