Jail crowding comes from coddling our prisoners

Published 9:38am Thursday, June 13, 2013

In regards to the overcrowding at the county jail, may I offer some suggestions.

Remove the TVs, air conditioning and all the other comforts of home from the jail.

Bring back the old chain gangs and the overcrowding should resolve itself.

There would be very few, if any, repeat offenders.

I see them on road clean up all the time (community work) I’ve been to the County Jail visiting and seen the deplorable condition , but not once have I seen a white shirt , tie clad individual. I know personally of several white collar criminals with enough money and pull to get themselves out of just about anything , but murder. Justice in this county or state isn’t administered fairly. Of coarse there are more poor criminals!!! there are moor poor people.

Putting them to work would be a good idea. Rotate shifts, 12 on, 12 off. Solve the crowd problem.

Bring back the chain gangs? Quit cramming people in jail for minor offences and lock up some of the big shots , that really steal. Their crimes (Most) go unpunished for stealing millions . I suggest you spend a little time in jail , before you rattle the chains on prisoners. If we’re going to continue to lock up citizens for minor offences I suggest we build more jails.
